The first 3 months here CrossFit Wilmington has been almost perfect. Moving back to the east coast, and purchasing CFW, my original CrossFit gym, was a huge investment–both financially and professionally–but I’m really happy that I took the leap!
When I bought CrossFit Wilmington in December, my goal was simple: to provide the most welcoming, best possible environment for the pursuit of fitness in the entire area. That meant a clear focus on doing the best things for the best people in the best possible way. It’s still our goal, but it did require a few changes along the way.
One of the primary focuses in my professional life is consistency. Consistency in the way I treat clients, and consistency in business practices. If we show favoritism it invalidates the service we are trying to provide. Every single member should get the same attention and respect when they walk in the door, no one is better than the next. That is something that I am proud to provide here at CFW.
We strive to create a more welcoming and friendly environment. One that’s free from judgement and disparagement. Our best athletes can work out along-side our newest members and push them to succeed, to do more.
But, focusing on “best” sometimes means removing things that are merely “pretty good.” Just as with your diet and exercise, doing things that are “pretty good” won’t get you to your goal. “Pretty good” is not good enough for CrossFit Wilmington.
For this reason, you’ll probably see some changes at CrossFit Wilmington. This was a very hard decision, but in the end we asked ourselves, “What’s the right thing to do for all of our members?” That brought clarity of purpose, and made the decision a simple one (but not an easy one.)
This has been a time of rapid growth and change. And today, we’ve removed our biggest roadblock to excellence. In our relentless pursuit, we’ll continue to always improve ourselves to better serve you, our friends and clients.
Thank you for your trust! We won’t let you down.
