Registration is now live for the 2012 Crossfit Open. Anybody in the world is invited to register and compete. The Open will consist of five workouts over five weeks starting February 22nd and concluding March 23rd. The workouts are easy to complete and we will be doing them as a gym. For those of you considering whether or not to participate in the Open, simply do it. As a gym, CFW is known to be very competitive across our region, and even across the US; as members of this gym, you will surprise yourself at how well you perform during these five workouts. Ask anyone here who has competed in a local competition, our athletes consistently show up and outperform people from other gyms. Our programming and strength bias prepare our members to be competitive in the Open workouts. If you are concerned about the workouts, don’t be. Last year they were all AMRAP style workouts with very few high-skill components. If you are able to complete one rep of the workout, you are still eligible to score for the gym
Logistically, the team score will be comprised of the top 3 male and female scores on each workout. We could potentially have 6 different people each week score points for the team. The top 60 teams in our region qualify to move on to the Regional level. Additionally the team in each region with the most participants will receive that number of tickets to the Regionals, and the team with the most participants in the world receives that many tickets to the CrossFit Games in LA. If we have enough people sign up, you will ALL receive tickets. We will be programming the Open workouts as a gym, so you will be doing the workouts anyway.
