Registration is now live for the 2012 Crossfit Open. Anybody in the world is invited to register and compete. The Open will consist of five workouts over five weeks starting February 22nd and concluding March 23rd.  The workouts are easy to complete and we will be doing them as a gym.  Sign up so you can enter your scores and see where you stack up.  There’s no pressure and it’s a lot of fun. To register for the 2012 Crossfit Open go here.

For those of you considering whether or not to participate in the Open, simply do it. As a gym, CFW is known to be very competitive across our region, and even across the US; as members of this gym, you will surprise yourself at how well you perform during these five workouts.  Ask anyone here who has competed in a local competition, our athletes consistently show up and outperform people from other gyms.  Our programming and strength bias prepare our members to be competitive in the Open workouts.  If you are concerned about the workouts, don’t be.  Last year they were all AMRAP style workouts with very few high-skill components.  If you are able to complete one rep of the workout, you are still eligible to score for the gym

Logistically, the team score will be comprised of the top 3 male and female scores on each workout.  We could potentially have 6 different people each week score points for the team.  The top 60 teams in our region qualify to move on to the Regional level.  Additionally the team in each region with the most participants will receive that number of tickets to the Regionals, and the team with the most participants in the world receives that many tickets to the CrossFit Games in LA.  If we have enough people sign up, you will ALL receive tickets.  We will be programming the Open workouts as a gym, so you will be doing the workouts anyway. Sign up, compete, and see how you stack up.

Great work on yesterday’s workout everyone. A few of the fellas went at the 185lbs for 30 reps (Heavy Isabel) and did fine work. Josh crushed it at 7:23. Cody knocked it out in 9:22 (over 5 minutes faster than he did a year and half ago!) And bless his little heart… Tanner, after busting his face open during his warm up and having to go get 7 stitches, came back and did it in 9:12. Good stuff. Abby and Felice, not to be outdone, did their own version of Heavy Isabel… 30 reps at 105lbs, and finished in 10:49 and 11:59 respectively.

Hope you feel better Tanner! Way to come back to the gym after getting stitches and killing that wod! I feel very privileged to be able to train with such amazing athletes and people like you. Thanks T, Josh, Abs, Cost, and Melissa for doing the wod together tonight. You all did awesome and I had a lot of fun. Keep up the good work cfw!

Felice! I thought we got it under 11 min. If not then my time was 11:49. I finished right before you. Good times…thanks foe the push on my not so pleasent snatch day

Thanks for the shout out guys. The stitches look worse than they are. I still had fun with yesterday’s workout.
The am crew rocked out as usual. It seemed like everyone was going in slow motion on all the lifts today, lots of time under tension. Good stuff!

Tanner…I hope you are okay. That sucks dude!

I wanna play heavy Isabel…workouts like Isabel make me wanna get on that Oly platform every day. I am determined to get a bodyweight snatch. Great job ladies and gentlemen! I am SUPER jealous. haha 🙂

I just signed up for the open. LETS DO THIS PEOPLE!

Tanner, your “injury” is EPIC! I prefer to believe you head butted a jerk for offending your honor!

    Great job this morning everyone!

I am all signed up for the open. Glad to support it and to see ultimately where I am this year so I have a goal to improve against next year. Sort of like my FGB score from last year. 🙂

Good stuff on all the tempo movements today. Thanks Tanner for the pointers on straight leg deadlifts. I guess I just took it a bit to literal this morning. 😀
