Are you searching for perfection? You won’t find it inside our gym. Not a single one of us is perfect. We’d be doing you all a disservice if we claimed to be. Whether it’s adherence to a diet plan, consistency coming to the gym, or technique on the Olympic lifts, it is truly impossible to be perfect.

Trying to be perfect is going to stress you out and drag you down.

It’s frustrating to see some trainers making wild claims about their diet or training.  You won’t hear us saying “I haven’t eaten any junk food in years,” or that I am always motivated to work out, and never miss a training session.  We’re in the same boat as you all.  It’s hard to train every day. It’s hard to eat clean all the time. Sometimes we slip up, but that doesn’t keep us from pressing forward. We are not going to sit here on a soapbox and claim to be something we’re not.

I’m not saying that you shouldn’t work your hardest to achieve your goals.  If that requires you to be in the gym and change your diet, then you better do it!

But holding yourself to an unrealistic standard of perfection is going to drive you nuts! To quote Forrest Gump, “Sh-t happens.” So what, you missed a few workouts? You caved and ate a piece of chocolate cake (or the whole cake!)?  Deal with it, move past it, and keep pressing on.
