If you’ve attended any of my nutrition classes, you know my disdain for the food and supplement industries. It’s sad that our FDA (i,e., our Government who so many Americans rely on for… almost everything!) ignores the facts and does little to hamper ridiculous claims from the Food Industry about products. Two great examples that have become popular lately… Acai Berries and Agave.
Neither are anything but sugar nectars from plants. They are neither that bad for you in small quantities. Not unlike blue berries. But like the blue berry, if they’re eaten in high quantities in a misguided attempt at eating “heatlthy”, they cause the same health problems (from elevated insulin levels) as processed sugars.
Don’t believe marketing hype.
