Want to add some speed to your LSD Sport?
“My last half marathon was May 2010 and I ran 2:10:40. I joined Crossfit Wilmington in June 2010 and I attended the CrossFit Endurance Certification Course. Since, I’ve lost 25lbs and got much smarter with the way I train and eat thanks to CrossFit Wilmington. Last weekend I ran the Myrtle Beach Half in 1:47:20. A 23 minute improvement in 9 months! And I only started seriously run training again in December.” – Jon Jessup
Mobility and Flexibity: Foam Roller, Myo-facial release, and band assisted stretches
*Classes are open at no cost to Open Gym Members.
**Class times are 6am, 9am, 11am, 4pm, 5:45pm and 7pm
Tough guy (or girl)! Yeah, you… the one that just read the Rx for today and said to yourself “I need to workout, not that stuff”. Today is one of those days you’re given to opportunity to truly improve your training. Yes, by improving your flexibility and mobility you increase your effectiveness and efficiency of each rep. Power is improved drastically and in direct relation to flexibility.
If you are unable to perform a squat with the spine erect and kept perpendicular to the floor with your butt to your ankles, you should attend this class. Runners and endurance folks, you guys and gals, because of high repetition at limited ROM, are some of the most in need of time on the roller. But it’s not just our LSD guys, there’s not one of us that doesn’t need to include more foam roller and stretching time to our training.
There are some of you that have been with us for 2 or even 3 years now that haven’t improved one bit on your flexibilty. You need today’s instruction. Even if Thursday is routinely your day for recovery come to a class anyway.
Rest Day – Attend a CF Class
