Lifting Seminar.  Those that did left happy!
This weekend produced new PRs.  Our weightlifting program
participants and the attendees of Coach Wilkes seminar all (yes, everyone of them)
hit new PRs in Snatch and Clean & Jerk.

    Slow day for all huh? I watched the video for todays HIGH PULL, after i did the WOD. First I have to say that the clip has an error in it because it is not IPHONE friendly, and that is just insane! But the dude in the clip was using tiger grips….T can we use tiger grips? Any way great effort morning crew! looking forward to a great week and a great beach wod on wed. AND DONT FORGET, the fights are downtown this weekend, so get your tickets, good company makes the fights better!

    First baseball batting gloves and now tiger grips? Whats next NO GOOD, Andrew's hip weighters and Matt's bench shirt?

    Yeah NO GOOD, what's next? lifting shoes? LOL Seriously, Shout out to big bear CLINT! My boy got a 2:03 on today's WOD…that's a lot of mass to get up and down a 24" box. Hope you didn't break it…
    Way to go monster!

    Lifting shoes… good. Grips, well… not so much. Greg is using them for the high pull. Specific equipment for specific sports or goals… you can’t transition from exercise to exercise in CrossFit with grips on your hands. But most imortantly, your grip will get weaker and all your performance will suffer. Just like the gym straps and all the tape and the ridiculas amounts of chalk some of you like to use (read: WASTE), it’s a mental crutch.

    Yes to batting gloves, because I did not have them on sat I have an ouchy! I'm not saying yes to tiger grips, i'm just saying the demo implied they were an authorized piece of equipment…. I have been thinking about lifting shoes actually. good job Clint!

    The basic answer is Box Jumps require fast movement and full extension of the hips. The hips are the source of all physical performance.

    happy b-day freddy, and maria has not been in the gym due to her recent enrollment in curves and competitive swimming club at britthaven
