Hi everyone, I just joined two weeks ago and already I love it. I was a competitive gymnast for 15 years. I did it all the way through college. I ended my collegiate career short to join the Marine Corps. I gave up gymnastics to be apart of a cause greater than myself. Ever since then, I haven't been able to find something to fill the hole that gymnastics left in me. I’ve always felt like something was missing. I would run and workout on my own, but it just wasn’t enough. I joined a gym and tried taking classes there but they were boring and not challenging enough for me. Then I found out about Crossfit Wilmington. I looked on the webpage and was so impressed by all of the coaches and their backgrounds. So I called up and scheduled my intro classes. The first moment I stepped into the gym I knew that this is where I belonged. Everyone was so nice and friendly. Their work ethic was tough and determined. I could tell that the coaches really care about the members and their training. It’s nice to be apart of a “gym family” again. I had my first WOD on Monday and I’m still sore lol. But I’m determined and excited to progress as far as I can in this sport. The thing I like best about crossfit is that it’s not a “specialized” sport. It reminds me a lot of gymnastics. Crossfit makes an overall athlete in all areas….. strength, speed, endurance, flexibility, and mental toughness. I feel at home again. So basically I just want to say thank you to everyone at CFW. I’m so excited to be apart of something so great and I look forward to the challenges that lie ahead. –Felice
