The Clean (and Snatch) and Deadlift Start Positions are distinctly different. They are due to function… hence the distinction we make between the two. The Deadlift is almost all posterior chain in effort and its function is, in Powerlifting, purely to move the heaviest weight most efficiently. The Clean (and Snatch) start position, if done properly, has a more erect spine and its function is to set the lifter up for the most efficient 2nd pull. A Clean (and Snatch) deadlift has the transition and is typically used to develop the 1st and 2nd pull of the Clean (and Snatch).

Good Morning World!!
There will be a Warrior Dash in North Carolina (Huntersville) next year – August 27, 2011. If you register by Dec 31st 2010 there is a discount. 40$ now instead of 60 later. Peiwen and I went to one of these this year – it was a blast. Similar to the Barbarian Challenge.
