The CFW Stimulus Plan
In everything we do, CFW prides itself on being unlike other gyms and fitness facilities.  We ask only for a three month commitment.  That’s how long it takes for us to make a difference in a new member’s life.  Why would you go to a gym that needs two years to get you fit?
In May, CFW is offering to deduct new member’s "other" gym membership cost from our memebership fees for the first three months with us.  Yes, whatever your membership, simply subtract it from our cost and that’s your price.  This our fitness (and economics) stimulus plan.
If you’re ready for a change, we just made it easier.
Do you want to run faster?
Unlearn how!
This Thursday, 6 May at 6:30pm we’re giving a class on the POSE running technique and Endurance training.  If you want to run more efficiently and injury free, we’ll see you Thursday.  Even if you hate running, this class will improve your running and help make it a bit easier on ya.
The modern running shoe has allowed to us to extend the foot forward of our center and strike the heal with each running step. Running injuries such Iliotibial (IT) Band Syndrom, Plantar Faciitis, Shin Splints, and chronic knee pain, are all remedied by changing how you run.  The POSE running techniques help us return to natural running form and to an injury free run.
Kaitlyn gives a class on pulls ups!
4 rounds for time…
5 push press (135lbs / 95lbs)
8 pull ups
400m Sprint

Kelly, the inspiring part comes from you… we use you as an example of what a strong mindset fuels the body to accomplish. Everyone knows who Kelly (you know, the girl who just had a baby, Kelly?) is. 2 weeks after having Ellen you started your Intro course here. A week later… pull ups. At 1 month your were storming through the wods with great technigue. Now, at only 4 months after Ellen's showtime, you're doing CFW heavy WODs as Rx'ed! You've crushed the "I just had a baby" excuse we hear. I talk a lot about mindset and our strengths coming from within. You prove it. It only goes to reason Kaitlyn would be the same. In a few years she'll be giving the ladies (and guys) of CFW a run for it.

Originally posted Saturday, 01 May: I have been checking out this site since I started CFW in January, but my experience there today is what has gotten me to post. After having a bad soccer game which resulted in tears of frustration for my 8 year old, she came to Crossfit Kids and got the ego boost she needed (and it changed the direction of our day to a positive one). She walked in with me today feeling beat down and left feeling accomplished after her own workout. I have noticed my own confidence grow since I started coming in after having Ellen, but to see CFW give that to my oldest daughter is awesome! The enouragement and support I have gotten is amazing (and this includes helping me tend to a fussy baby so I can get a workout in!), and I rave about you guys to anyone who will listen. The positive energy is contagious and addictive. I continue to be awed by what I see people accomplish within those walls (and out in the parking lot), and it inspires me. I look forward to coming in, and it is so exciting for me to look back and see how far I have come in such a short time. This has been a gift for me, and I am so happy to see the effects trickling down to my kids. Thank you to all of you for giving me your time, effort, and knowledge. I learn something every time I come in. Thanks again!

Awesome job Kaitlyn! You are a tough cookie, and an amazing young lady. Kelly, your post was very touching. Your drive and determination is what makes this job fun. Never once have I ever heard you use the word "can't." You give me the "roger that head nod," and dive right in. I am so glad that you and your family have become a part of ours.

If any of you use that new shower and get all soppin' wet before you realize you didn't even think to pack a towel, there's really no need to panic. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by how much water a mismatched pair of socks will absorb.

  8. JZ says:

Had they been the filthy socks I had worn all morning, then yes. But in my bag I had a fresh pair of beige socks I was planning on wearing to work… I'm not a scumbag. However, I AM sock-less in my office right now because of that exemplary display of creativity and resourcefulness. But in all seriousness… don't forget a towel. It sucks. Socks really are a poor excuse for a towel. They really didn't absorb that much and I was fanning myself with my underwear forever.

Actually MB, it's not that weird at all… or even scumbaggish. Ask any ground pounding Soldier or Marine why we even bother wearing a tshirt under our cammies to the feild.

I'm excited about the run class – I am going to try, try, try to make it! I quit running last year after a bad relationship with a marathon. Before that I ran my whole life (since I was 13) Ready to learn to run again…the right way.
