The Lateral Raise…   one of the best examples of "isolation" exercises that has absolutely no functional or athletic value.  What could this woman possible be gaining by performing this motion?  Where, other than in a pop fitness gym, does a human being perform this movement?  The answer…  nowhere!

 So let’s replace it with a truely functional movement that will work the shoulders, have athletic applictaions, and actually burn some calories…   the deadlift high pull!

WOD:

One armed, Dumb bell push press –   5 – 5 – 4 – 4 – 3 – 3

 As many rounds as you can in 10 minutes of:

  • 8 push ups
  • 5 pull ups
  • 6 one legged squats (3 left, 3 right)
