The paleo diet…  it’s really not that hard.  It’s simply a choice you make.  How well you do is up to you.
The foods on it are delicious and fill all requirements for a well life.  I promote it because I know it works.  Not only will you crush the AMA’s parameters for good health but you’ll crush your weightloss and/or fitness goals too.
Every metabolic pathway is enhanced by eating cleaner foods. The ratios of macro nutrients can vary some per sport, but for general health and wellness, a lower carbohydrate, moderate to high fat and moderate protein ratio tops others.
I just had my blood work done… yes, again. My triglycerides were a 32 and my C reactive protein were a 3…  the lowest my MD has ever seen.  But then again, so was my last month’s panel…  a 36 and 4, respectively.  While most look to LDLs as the focus marker for good health, I don’t even consider it. But that stuff is too in depth for what this post is about.
This one is on the 101 level… basic and introductory.  It’s not meant to be sarcastic in any way (ok, one, but it’s not something most of you would catch), but since crap foods are so accepted in our society, many people don’t know whole grains are not good for you!
We’ve so many new clients at CFW, and so many of you are serious about improving your health, not just working out, so I want to get you on the write track. Our nutrition classes are full and being requested more every day. Don’t worry, I’ll post the next one in a few days!
So get any of you started on the right track, I’m here to tell you there’s no bread, pasta, rice, cakes, cookies, frozen waffles, or cereal on the diet.  Nope, none.  Not even whole grain stuff or yogurt. I just wanted to post a few pics of things that are simply not on the diet… period.
NO EXCEPTIONS on these things…
You can make the primal diet seem difficult,
but there really is no challenge in hunting a Big Mac!

    Keep spreadin the love!
For you new guys out there, many of us were new too and didn't fully buy into the whole caveman thing. I finally did. Well I challenge you to try it for 90 days and some amazing things will happen for you (I committed for a year). What have you got to loose? Only your life for some of you, maybe your wellbeing for the rest of you and I do know your health for all. I am walking proof that it changed me and prepared me for some of the hardest challenges yet to come in my life. Mentally, physically and I do have to add spiritually I have dealt with it. I have stuck to this lifestyle and made it thru.
    t. you know this is my favorite topic that you post, I can't stay quiet about it. Go to the next class or grab an instructor or just start chatting about it with another member and any of us that have experienced these changes will be glad to talk with you, it keeps me grounded to talk with others about it. If you want to loose weight sure go ahead it's awesome for that, if you want to live a healthy life, have a clear mind and feel like your living right for the first time then do it! Oh by the way I am not 20 or 30 I am 46 years young and feel like I can do it another 46 years. Anybody want to open a Paleo restaurant?

DIET.DIET.DIET. T's message rings true and Debb's testimony is but one of hundreds at this gym. I can tell you that my performance gains as an athlete improved dramatically when my diet has been dialed in. But more recently, as my diet has stumbled, so too has my energy, fitness and overall wellness. What we put into our body matters. Tony, Julie, and the rest of the dream team are wonderful resources, as are many of the members who have real life success stories "living life as Rx'd". PS:
Dawn wonderful pic at CFE. We are forever proud of you!

You failed to add a picture of the factory farm. If you're eating commercially raised, corn-fed crap, then I don't think it's any better than eating cereal.

Thanks for everything to Tony and Julie and everyone at CFW, this diet change has so far been a challenge for me but day after day i pick myself up and keep going. Everyone says it's gonna get better and right now that's the light at the end of the tunnel i'm looking for. thanks again to everyone for all your support

Yeah, we all cheat. Duh. I cheat if, and only if, I feel like I've put in the work… over the last month. I'm eating pretty strict now. I've a had a few injuries that need help healing. I always disclose to you guys how I cheat. I like to catch a movie and get a bag of popcorn and something chocolate to go with it. I wash it down with a diet coke. The only fast food I'll do is Chick-fil-A. And typically that's their Chicken salad. I never eat bread, pasta, or fries. No exceptions. My attempt at going dairy free didn't last. The same Julie that bought me the almond milk and said it was time, is also the same Julie that caved to my crying about it and bought me a gallon of whole milk. Oh well I'll give that a shot again later. Maybe I'll try raw milk until then. I do not, ever, eat MacDonalds. I have too much respect for myself for that one.

I have too much respect for myself for that, and really… there is NOTHING, not one thing, on their menu that can be considered a healthy. And as far as the pic goes… it’s was way too funny to me. I couldn’t help posting it. I loathe a hypocrite. But in this case, more than usual. I can’t help it… my staff and I are working diligently to ensure CrossFit Wilmington and CrossFit, in general, has a great reputation in Wilmington. This clown is but a hickup in doing so. But it still annoys me that one single person may not know the better and mistake our efforts for, well, whatever it is they do. How can you claim to be into CrossFit, nutrition, and a healthy lifestyle, but smoke cigarettes and eat at McDonalds. I hate that there are people giving their hard earned cash to a fake. It’s like this… if you’re going to be dishonest, don’t lie about it! Ha.

I give all I do to you guys because I owe it to you and I enjoy it. So as far as the pic goes, come on… I had to post it. How could I not?

Tony is on point with the paleo diet. Even though I am not perfect as are most of us (coffee=beans)! But 96 percent of the time I'm paleo. It has done nothing but benefit me!
