Self-Defense Class June 20th

Sensei Aaron Lawrence will be holding a Self Defense class for the members of CFW on June 20th @6pm. Both women AND men are welcome to attend as this will be an all encompassing session on what tools are available and effective in a self defense situation. As our society deals with a growing number of people resorting to acts of violence and physical intimidation it is up to you the individual to actively seek and train to have the capacity to defend yourself and your family in any type of violent situation. YOU already come to Crossfit Wilmington to practice your own personal self defense against obesity, heart disease, and mediocrity. So, is it time for you to also learn and train to protect yourself and your loved ones from a violent attack?

self defense class
This class will last about 2 hrs and will include 80% physical training and 20% Q&A. Please wear what you would wear to work out in and be ready to sweat.  The cost for this class is only $20. If we get more than 10 people we will cut it off and schedule another class ASAP.Sensei Aaron Lawrence has critical experience in teaching Martial Arts and Self Defense to Women, Men, Special Forces and Children. He is holding this class to generate more awareness in the public of the realities of personal violence and the need for a basic understanding of how to protect oneself.

    Hey guys, Thanks for posting this.

    If you’ve ever wanted to get some basic over view and training in what it takes to physically defend yourself, you owe it to yourself and your family to attend this workshop.

    We will cover areas of close quarter combat and scenarios that you might not see in another “self defense” course. Including multiple attackers, ground fighting, and weaponized assault. What you can use and work in these situations to get to safety and what tools are available to you to come out on top.

    And,…I do love MMA/UFC and NAGA. Really I do! I think they serve a purpose. Just as learning Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu makes you a specialist on the ground, a powerlifter can Dead Lift 700lbs. But what happens to that powerlifter has to run two miles? What happens when the BJJ practitioner has to defend against 3 attackers and one is weaponized while he keeps his wife safe behind him??

    BE the Crossfitter of Martialist ability.
